Reflection: Going into this internship, I was very skeptical. I didn't see all of the benefits of it. Doing an internship teaches you what a real job is like, what employers look for, what long hours feel like, its just a terrific experience. I recommend an internship to anyone who is considering one. Its a great way to see what that job is like and if you would like that job. PC MedEvac was a great place to intern at and I hope to continue there as a junior technician.

Activities: SOP
Technical Information: Bart, Hiren, Safe Modes
Reflection: This internship has been a very rewarding experience. The thing I'm most proud of is the amount of things I learned through out my internship. I walked in on the first day not knowing anything about computers and now I know what's in them, how to fix them, how to take them apart, and how to disassemble drives and laptops. This means a lot to me because I didn't just walk through the steps, I learned how to fix personal computers and many personal skills.

Activities: Presentation to AOIT freshmen. SOP
Technical Information: Computer, Bart
Reflection: When I first came to PC MedEvac, my duties were more focused to learning in the shop, and working on computers in the shop. As time went on, I started answering phone calls, helping with field jobs, and checking people in and out. Sometimes, I even fix other technician's problems. Now that is a great feeling.

Activities: Data Migration, Shoppe
Technical Information: Servers, Bart, BIOS
Reflection: Some things that frustrate me about my work are when I don't know something, I feel bad for asking because I think it could be annoying. I ask anyway. Another frustrating part of my job is working on Saturday mornings, but after a while they became fun. Everything frustrating became fine after some time.

Activities: Work in the shop
Technical Information: Bart, Hiren, Safe Modes
Reflection: To pursue this career, you should probably go to college and major in computer engineering or electrical engineering. Honestly, to me, I believe the best way to learn in this career field is through experience, so internships like this one are great for education and training.

Date(s): 10/03/11 - 10/11/11
Activities: Standard SOP, Phone Calls
Technical Information: Bart, Telephone, Safe Modes, BIOS
Reflection: I feel that my main contribution to PC MedEvac is to help run the shop, which is most of our income. The more I learn, the more I can contribute to the shop. Also, if any new interns come in, it would be my job to teach them everything that I know to help them achieve at their internship, as well as in the future.

Activities: Worked with Ryan and James on SOP
Technical Information: Bart, Safe Modes, BIOS
Reflection: The purpose of AOIT is to teach us skills to use in the real world. There weren't any specific classes that helped me during the internship, but little things certain teachers did like work on speech skills in English 2, helped very much. I wish I learned more hardware before I started my internship. Some of the terms and parts are difficult for me to learn.
